Area Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Police then located multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests show the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for information.
An important representative said the incident rendered him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
