The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
